Hiya!

Hello people of the internet, 

I´m back! 

It honestly has been since forever that I blogged. I guess I just got caught up in life a little bit. 

I just needed loads of time to figure things and myself out.

Soo... two things happened: 

1. I moved to Munich

2. I now am studying film.

Two things I´m super happy about. There have been a lot of ups and downs in the last six months, but right now I can say I´m honestly happy. University is going great. I love it so much, frankly speaking I didn´t have a life besides studying since I started it, but now I´m off on christmas holiday which is amazing and finally gives me a little bit time to blog again.

So, don´t expect anything bloggingwise from me, just be happy if it happens.

There are many things I want and have to talk about. I hope y´all are doing great.

Relationship advice I gave whilst being Single

I don´t know why all of my friends think I´m a good source to get relationship advice since I´ve never been in a serious relationship, but still they come to me and ask for it.

Do more of what makes you happy

Just ask yourself 'Am I happy?'
Whatever makes you feel bad, leave it. 

Whatever makes you smile, keep it. 

As simple as that.

Think about who you want to be

Never lose yourself loving someone else (been there, done that), 

always remember who you are and who you want to be.

For example:

Instead of apologizing to anyone, you first should consider 

whether you want to be that kind of person you´re turning into, 
because then there´s no apology needed.

He´s just not that into you

If you haven´t seen the movie, go watch it right now. It´s an eye opener. Because it truly does not make sense to encourage your best friend that he totally fancies her if the signs are damn clear that he doesn´t. Just spare her the pain from the beginning. 
If a guy likes you, he will make an effort.
If not:
Honey, there are plenty fishes in the sea.

Trust the timing of your life

Don´t stress the could haves, if it should have, it would have.

(But: I don´t think it´s an accident when you fit perfectly into the crook of someone´s neck)

Love yourself first

I often ask this question myself.
How can I expect a guy to love me if I don´t even love myself?
Before you give away your heart, 
make sure it´s not broken.

They can´t treat you like shit and then expect that you love them

Furthermore, your value doesn´t decrease,
 based on someones inability to see your worth.

A lot can happen between now & never

I know a lot of people say this,
but it is true:
If you are constantly looking for 'the one', 
you´ll never find him.
But if you stop looking, suddenly all guys are running after you.

Don´t let anyone give you the feeling you don´t deserve what you want

We hit if off like Jekyll and Hide,

just accepting the fact it´s not gonna work, 

still shared the same friends and were forced to teamwork.

Believe me,

I´m beyond glad I got see,

what an amazing person you could be,

once there started to form a 'we'.

You might think of yourself as a cold heart,

but any who sees at least one part,

of your soul and your mind,

knows that you´re one of a kind.

Someone who is not easily to find.

Because once you saw the light,

but right now I´m exactly in that mess.

Getting high together to lighthouse family

or taking rounds to pee,

memories are always filled best by you,

because cracking jokes was what you knew.

You´re taking a part of me with you,

to wherever you´ll go through.

And trust me when I say,

that I will treasure a part of you if I may.

I value your honest mouth,

especially when it expresses love,

even after seeing me close up.

Meeting a wayfarer

This is a little piece of ¿poem? I put together about a guy I met on my trip to Morocco.

I saw you over there,

with your tanned face and wavy hair.

What crossed my mind first was,

for how many heartbreaks were you cause.

It became pretty clear,

you are the joker and domineer.

Always up with something new,

That´s why they all probably like you.

But you weren´t so sure about me,

was it because I gave you contra when we crossed the sea?

You told me 'with you I´d always have a good time',

I told you to stop kissing my arse and we´d be fine.

You asked me if I didn´t like you,

well I´ll tell you what, that was partly true.

You seem so democratic in spreading love,

hence I was surprised about your novia, kind of.

Since then I watched you,

I couldn´t figure you out, neither could you.

Your looks to me were without relevance,

but I was surprised by your gently hidden intelligence.

Our chat was startling very pleasant,

you proved you hold some sort of adolescent.

But don´t you worry, I like the both of you,

the sincere movie watcher and the fool.

Car tie

Long nights driving around defining us,

Raving about all the shit in the world,

listening to your (now) ex-girlfriend word,

no longer keeping up with your fuss.

A sweet promise of a hot chocolate,

next time I´ll come around,

Out in the woods nowhere to be found,

you were my best mate.

You rather talk to me,
steal my film book and read it out loud,
tickle me until I almost die from laughter,
chase me around my mum´s mini in the middle of the night.

I´m fond of the thought you relying on me,
your snarky remarks about things you despise,
there´s no label to the state of our friendship,
hell do we even have one?

Your dashing brown eyes looking at me, 
while we´re being caught by a speed camera.
Our infamous humble banter,
taking us to better places.

Driving a convertible during the night,
to gaze at the sky.
All attempts to change the past,
were in vain.

Plaza de Espana, Sevilla

I do get a bit tired of telling you that some of my pictures are not as sharp as they should be, simply because my camera was / is broke. Nonetheless I couldn´t just Not let you see this amazing place a little bit more detailed.
Plaza de Espana is always full of life! If you spend there around an hour or so on a Saturday, I´ll guarantee you, you´ll see at least 2 wedding couples taking pictures. Believe me, it´s annoying, but funny the same. It´s a nice place to have a bit of a picnic or rest after a stroll through Parque Maria Luisa.
Other than that it´s part of the film set of the glorious Naboo in Star Wars, which makes it only more fascinating!
I always love to just sit there with a book and a nice cup of tea :)

7 Steps To Love Your Life

I believe in the quote be so busy loving your life that you have no time for hate regret or fear.  And that is what happened. I just felt.. like me. I didn´t change, I just became more myself. I am becoming more aware of my feelings, my body signals, my needs and the things that make me happier. I think you are on the right track if you are uninterested in the past.

My essential steps for enjoying life at the moment are these:

1. Happy Place
Try to go somewhere where you feel complete and makes you appreciate life. Things you can wonder about. If you have such a place at home then great! For me personally, Salzburg is always a place to refill on energy. Or a long walk through the woods, always clears my mind.

2. People
About a year ago I made a rule to only surround myself with people who want to be in my life, who bring the best out of me and who are genuinely good. Associate yourself with people of good quality, for it is better to be alone than in a bad company.

3. Me - Time
I am quite a sociable person, but I do need time fore myself. Time when I absolutely do nothing, time to borrow my friends dogs and take them for a walk, time to watch old western, listen to Harry Potter audiobooks all day, anything... But it is important to take this time intentional. And not when it is to late, hence on a regular basis.

4. You
It´s important to make someone happy and it´s more important to start with yourself. Do more of what makes YOU happy. YOU! Not your mum, not your sister, not your teacher, not the society, YOU! You don´t have to change for anyone, because you can´t pay your bills with their opinions (;

5. Dreams
The world only exists in your eyes you can make it as big or as small as you want. To have dreams & goals is important, it keeps you motivated. Don´t let someone dim your light, simply because it´s shining in their eyes. But remember that dreams don´t work unless you do.

6. Let Go Of Anger
I used to have quite a bit of a problem with anger. I wasn´t a specifically 'violent' kid, no that´s not what I mean, but I used to get angry a lot. And most of the time at myself. When that happened I would just stop saying anything, but fume inside of me. And if I was asked what the hell happened, I would simply spit 'nothing'. Because the thing is if I dared to speak I would either break down and cry or be nasty and push people away. Let me tell you, neither of these things are recommended. So with time passing and a few counseling hours later I started trying to just shut it out, meditate and let it pass. I would (still) simply wait until my anger passed. Frankly speaking, with more practice it gets easier. And now I wonder why people fuss about the simplest things. It´s been such a good change for me, I feel so much better and it´s such a huge achievement for me. I found more peace in the world and in myself.

7. Be Grateful
You can be anything you want just don´t be ungrateful. Learn to appreciate the little and the big things that your life gives to you, because how else would you become happy if you don´t see the value in things?


Everybody has downs once in a while. You do, I do, we all do. But never forget to get up.

Real Alcazar, Sevilla

Frankly speaking, I´ve been meaning to post about this place since my first weekend in Seville. I visited it on my first trip to the city and it took my breath right away. Since then I´m counting it to one of my happy places. There is just something about it that makes it stand out among all other gardens and palaces I´ve seen. The beauty is incredible stunning and nearly impossible to comprehend into reasonable words. This is why I love pictures. Through them you are able to express your thoughts, when you´re lacking with words.

What The World Means To Me

When someone asks me why I love traveling so much I reply with this:

I am on constant search for myself and I have the feeling that every country has a part of me and I need to visit each country to put the pieces together and figure out who I truly am.

My Top 10 movies

A movie list for February? 

Okay.

1. Shutter Island

Extremely mind fucking movie, excuse the lack of better words but that´s just how I feel about it. When you watch it for the first time you feel constantly played and betrayed. There is no really knowing on how the film will end until the actual end. However by hindsight you could have seen the  little signs throughout the movie. I got a thrilling, but also hugely annoying feeling by watching this movie just because it confused me so much. But Leo is brilliant as always.

2. Along came Polly

I never got around watching 'Along came Polly' until recently a friend lend it to me. I must say definitely not what I expected and somewhat clichéd boring story, but still could be considered as a classic.

3. Gran Torino
Clint Eastwood is an absolute Genius! Not mere the fact that this movie is an utterly beauty in style, it also has a massive message. The racist aspect is still something we´re dealing with on a daily basis. But Eastwood´s movie is able to turn the banality of a conflict into so much more. Truly touching, may or may not have shed a tear or two.

4. Crank

Well what can I say? I love my action movies. Although I have to point out that I´m not a fan at all of the after effects taken on this movie, especially the constant lettering or split screens. Or the map. Honestly, if they would have left that out it would have been tons better. But nonetheless: Jason Statham is Aces and the permanent speed is nerve racking. A must have seen.

5. My Girl

This movie actually took a tiny piece of my heart. I love the simple style and honesty behind it. The film is so pure, it´s a quite sensitive topic, but yet well interpreted.

6. Skyfall
To be honest, before Skyfall I despised Daniel Craig as the new James Bond. I am just a total Pierce Brosnan Girl and I didn´t like adjusting to a new one. Especially cause he´s blonde. I just didn´t like him at all. You can clearly see my prejudices towards him, which are obviously proven wrong. Skyfall was just an excellent movie and I watched it in the movie theatre twice, because it was that good! Particularly I love the setting in Scotland and finding out more about his family background.
I watched  it over the break and once again was blown away!

7. Die Hard (Series)
Yippie kai yay fother mucker. All I´m saying. Just kidding, but seriously that must have been the best line throughout all of his movies. I recently took the challenge upon me to watch all of them whilst knitting (not sure who else does, but if you do, let me know haha). And once again I was spending my time happily! I am a massive action movie fan and these are just must-watch's!

8. Pulp Fiction
To be honest, in the beginning I wasn´t really sure of what to think about it. I didn´t like John Travolta with long hair and the time jumps confused me. The humor can be pretty dry at times, but I find the jokes hilarious. The stories are simple and a bit clichéd, but Tarantino has a particularly catching way of narrating things. It´s simply a classic.

9. Schindler´s List
Being German comes with some sort of responsibility. The responsibility of our past. My generation did not have to do anything with it, but still it´s our task to present the 'New Germany'. We would discuss WWII in every possible subject in school and sometimes it can get a bit.. frustrating. You think you know everything about it, but you don´t. If you haven´t lived around that time you´ll never know how it really was. I have watched tons of movies about it, it´s really countless. But one that stood out for me as a kid, is Schindler`s List. It was shot in black & white and even though I was just a little kid when I first watched it and didn't really understand everything, it left it´s mark on me. Steven Spielberg did an excellent job. I truly believe this is one of the greatest movies ever made. It´s important that history will never be forgotten and the fact that even in the most horrible times there have been heroes who saved others life.

10. Catch Me If You Can
This must be one of my favorite Leo movies! His acting is so on point, I can´t even try to tell you how obsessed I am with his acting in that movie!! He´s just absolutely brilliant, born to be an actor. The story is so catching  and even though Frank is seemingly the bad guy in this movie you can´t help but like and admire him for his cleverness. I always have a thing for movies based on a true story, they just give it a little more kick.

So these are just some of the movies I´ve watched recently or adored over a long time!
I could never grow out of watching movies, they just mean too much to me.

A winterly Salzburg

Winter Reading List 2015 - Top 10 books

I was always easy to be fascinated by a story. Whether that was 'Winnetou' the western hero or a soppy  love story like 'The fault in our stars'.

When I read a book

A good book just never fails me.

1. Girl online

The new debut novel and bestseller by Zoella aka Zoe Sugg. I am about to finish this book and I can say, well done Zoe, this is incredible! The style is nicely written and good to follow. It´s really easy to connect with the characters and there is something about that makes you keep reading! A book I´m finding a hard time to put down. 

2. 10 Billion

A book Jack Harries recommend quite a while ago and now I´m reading it for the 5th time. An interesting view of today´s human species. Give it a read, it won´t take you long.

3. Make the most of your time on earth 

Pointless to add anything else to that title. Just use your time and explore while you can!

4. The Kite Runner
Incredible book. Just outstanding. It was recommended by a friend of mine a couple of years back. And well the reason why I started to read it was, because he rarely reads! And if he thinks a book is worth recommending, it truly means something! Thanks Freddy.

5. Carpe Diem 

A book I read a long time ago and it still makes me want to make me live my life to the fullest. Sometimes when I search for advice I flick through the pages and every time I stumble across something that helps me out. Also, it´s a great motivation-finder-tool.

6. Into the Wild

I have blogged about it earlier this year and it still amazes me! Such a unique story.. incredible! For all the Rangers or Rebels out there, go have a read. You´ll question yourself afterwards more than ever and the wanderlust is prickling under your fingernails.

7. I am Malala

The girl who stood up for education and was shot by the Taliban. I´m sure everybody has heart from her by now and if not, go read this book. This young girl is to amazing to describe with words. Our world needs inspirations and heroes like her. 'I AM MALALA will make you believe in the power of one person's voice to inspire change in the world.'  - This about sums it up how I feel about her.

8. The Physician (Medicus)

Brilliant book! Might take you quite some time to read it, but it´s well worth it! A wonderful story everybody should hear! And a year ago the movie came out, it´s amazing! Go watch it as well if you fancy.

9. On the Road 

You´re not supposed to know what you want to do with the rest of your life, so why not just go out there and explore the world while you can? Soon enough you´ll sit at a desk with loads of work to do. Use your time wisely.
Jack Kerouac definitely knows what he´s talking about, it´s a partly autobiography. Give it a go, it may surprise you!

10. The Art Of Thinking clearly 

Bought this months (maybe years?!) ago, but didn´t give it a proper read until earlier this year. There is not always time to read a book like this, since it´s mind challenging and not something I´d advice reading on the tube. I mentioned Rolf Dobelli last year in a post about 'Cutting Media' as he was the one who inspired me to it.
