Mighty Leaf Tea

Donnerstag, 28. August 2014
I´m a tea drinker. I´m british.
But I´m not. I just don´t like coffee. To be honest I never even tried it, but already the smell or any coffee flavored dish makes my nose crinkly.
I drink any kinds of tea, whether it´s green or black, I just love it. There is nothing better than spending a cold winter evening snuggled up in a blanket (utopistic a boyfriend) and drinking hot tea out of a mug.
I know, August is summer. Haha great joke. I can´t see any summer. My tea consume is higher than ever.
A couple of years ago I got introduced to Mighty Leaf by a Co-Worker. I liked it a lot but I kind of lost track of it. So now that I´m working here again I discovered our old love.
It´s not only the taste that is remarkable, but the packaging as well. It doesn´t only look lovely, but it´s compostable too.
On their website you can find a huge variety of their offers. From cold & hot treats, Teaware to gifts, everything your heart desires!

My favorite is Organic African Nectar. I just like the bit eastern sent to it. In lack of finding the right words, here is a poem about it:

African nectar, you make me smile.

Jewel red like a desert sunset,
rich smooth honey flavor dancing on my tongue,
lively tropical fruit flavor gliding down my throat.
Cooling & relaxing my body with hibiscus,
fighting free radicals with south african rooibos,
African nectar you make me smile....

The Top 5 Of My Travel Bucket List

Mittwoch, 27. August 2014
When we were away on longer school trips or I´d chat to friends who are away from home for only a few weeks, I always found it quite hard to understand the feeling of homesickness. I don´t think it´s anything to be ashamed of, not at all! It only means that your home & your family is important to you. And I´m not saying that I never felt it before (I did after I hit the 8 months mark in America), but I don´t really deal with it well. I´m more the kind of I-want-to-go-away-seek-adventures-kind-of-person. Sometimes my feet are so itchy, it´s hard to stay at home and not to look at pictures of the world. I always wanted to travel. Travel is just a massive part of my life. I´m full of wanderlust.

On my Travel Bucket List are far more countries, but I only name you my top 5:

1. Patagonia
2. South Africa (specifically Capetown)
3. Sri Lanka
4. Bali
5. New Zealand

I´m not quite sure when I´ll manage to go there and when I have the money for it, but one day I will!

This is my adventure fund. One time it was completely full and I spent everything on a ticket to Texas. The next time it will be for one of my top 5! x

Bits and pieces that inspired me - made me look twice

When you need a language to make friends

I´ve been there. Done that.
That´s what everybody tells me when I talk about my year ahead.
They´re right.. At least to some point. When I arrived in Texas as an exchange students I barely spoke English. I was doing OK, but still pretty bad in my opinion. I was one of the worst students in my English class back in Germany.
Gladly Americans are more "accepting" when it comes to people who don't speak perfect English yet. This made it so much easier for me. But to be honest, when they said its fine how I pronounced the word or how I put phrases (and I knew it was wrong) it annoyed the shit out of me. I wanted to be corrected. I wanted to get better in English (I´m still on the road, that´s for sure).
Because the feeling of being part of a group, but not really understanding what they´re saying sucks. It´s hard to become friends with someone who speaks a language you don´t know. I´m not saying it´s impossible, because obviously it was possible before we had computers and teachers who helped us to learn different languages. But I needed a language to make friends.
And now it´s all over again. I´m not scared (surprisingly) and I haven´t been before I went to America. But sometimes language barrier is just frustrating.
And I think this is why it´s so important that more people learn languages or become exchange students or take Gap Years in a whole different country. It opens your mind about certain issues and importances. I can only speak to myself, but I want to learn more languages. Language is the first step  of understanding.
I know it´s going to be tough but I´m trying to make the most of it and speak somewhat understandable Spanish.
To everybody who understands me, please stay with me x

Up & Away

Freitag, 22. August 2014
Time went by like nothing. A minute ago I was about to graduate and now I´m in the south.
This year is going to be great. That´s what I´m telling myself since I got accepted.
This year means freedom for me.
Yes, I will have to work every day.
Yes, I have a job to take seriously.
And also, yes, I will be depending on my own. And that´s exactly how I like it.

Why in the world should I take a gap year? Well, because of the world.
It´s quite unfair to be expected to know what you want to do for the rest of your life by the age of 18. We barely became adults.
It´s alright if we don´t have a clue what to do with our lives. We are going to work our whole life in a job, until we are old and grumpy. What is wrong about trying to see the world from a different angle? What is so wrong about trying to figure out who you are and what matters to you?
Nothing. There´s nothing wrong about it.
It is your life. Your body. And you will need to live with it till the time runs out.
Just go ahead and pack your stuff. Start an adventure. Make new friends. Make new experiences. Because however this year will turn out, it´s an experience. Whether they´re good or bad.
Nonetheless they´re experiences and you´ll appreciate them later on.

Sevilla, here I come.
Cheers to the hopefully best year of my life x

Distance

Something I used to feel.

I´m here
you are there
time is everything but fair.

I wake up in the morning
my first thought is calling
you,  who is about to fall asleep
and all I hear is beep.

Time is passing by,
until I see you in the eye.
worries are taking their toll on me,
why can´t we just be...

I´m here
you are there
time is everything but fair.

I wan´t to escape,
disapparate,
just to be with you,
is that what you want too?

I can´t tell anymore,
is it worth fighting for?
You cease aspiring,
but I won´t stop desiring.

Any other girls,
or is it just me?
