Hiya!

Sonntag, 20. Dezember 2015
Hello people of the internet,
I´m back!
It honestly has been since forever that I blogged. I guess I just got caught up in life a little bit.
I just needed loads of time to figure things and myself out.
Soo... two things happened:
1. I moved to Munich
2. I now am studying film.
Two things I´m super happy about. There have been a lot of ups and downs in the last six months, but right now I can say I´m honestly happy. University is going great. I love it so much, frankly speaking I didn´t have a life besides studying since I started it, but now I´m off on christmas holiday which is amazing and finally gives me a little bit time to blog again.
So, don´t expect anything bloggingwise from me, just be happy if it happens.
There are many things I want and have to talk about. I hope y´all are doing great.
All the love, M

A day in Cordoba

Freitag, 31. Juli 2015
Hey there,
I finally managed to go through my photos of Spain and kind of sort through them, however I am not finished yet. So these are some pictures I took on a day trip to Cordoba. The city is quite unique and somewhat beautifully calm. There´s no real rush, just pure joy of life. The bridge actually reminds me a bit of the 'Pillars Of Earth City'.

So at the moment I´m counting my last days in Berlin. Don´t really want to leave this city. What has everyone been up to? Let me know in the comments below. M x

Top 6 Free Things To Do in Seville

Samstag, 30. Mai 2015
Sevilla is a really underrated city. I don´t get why it´s not as popular as Paris or London. It´s beyond gorgeous and you just can't seem to get enough of it. It´s also a city of tons of college students. I myself am always looking after my money so I am always happy when there are free things to do around the city. If you feel the same, carry on reading!

1. Hospital De Los Velnerables
It used to be home to priest and is just a lovely piece of architecture in the middle of the city. It´s a bit hidden and not really a lot people go there (even though it is in travel guides). It´s a beautiful interior courtyard connected with a baroque style church. Just grab yourself a book and have a nice sunday afternoon. `Cause every sunday afternoon you can get in for free,  otherwise it´s about 2€ more or less.

2. Museum De Bellas Arte
If you are into art and a bit of spanish history, go to this museum! It´s a lovely building inside and out. You can learn a lot about the spanish way of living. For a bit of alone time it´s always a good place to start. And the entrance is completely free.

3. Las Setas
That´s how the Sevillan people call it, otherwise also known as 'Metropol Parasol' It´s a construct made out of wood and about 26m tall. That way you can look over the whole city. You have to pay 3€, but you can turn them into a drink upstairs, so it´s not really 'paying' since you get a nice refreshing for it. And what better way than to have a nice drink over the roofs of Seville?

4. Flamenco Show T De Triana
Spain is famous for their Flamenco and rightly so! You can book professional Flamenco shows online (for example La Casa del Flamenco is pretty good), but also a nice way is to go on a thursday night (and sometimes other nights as well) to T de Triana . You can buy a drink or not, however you prefer and then you can watch a traditional Flamenco show, it´s pretty cool! Definitely an experience not to miss when in Spain.

5. Picnic in Parque Maria-Luisa
This is basically what my sunday afternoons consisted off. Tanning and eating in the park. It is just as lovely as you´d imagine. The park is quite big and right next to Plaza de Espana and Plaza de Americano. So you may add a bit of sightseeing as well.

6. Free City Tour
Every day at 10 am there is a guide (you´ll find him for sure, he hands out flyers and looks just like a typical tour guide) standing at Plaza Nueva and he offers a free tour around the city. It´s a professional guide and an offer from the city. My friends made the tour (I myself didn´t), but I heard lots of good things about and if you don´t want to pay for a hopp on hopp of bus than this might be just the right thing for you!

Have a fantastic summer day,
Marie x

Over

Dienstag, 28. April 2015

But Baby you can´t cry forever,
don´t make him believe you are a fool,
He´s just not as clever,
as you.

He won´t know what he´s missin',
but for sure when he´ll see,
you and some other dude kissin',
how it could have been.

But Baby it´s too late,
you and him are over.
It was never in your fate,
to be his lover.

The endless nights you were awake,
trying to fix that hole,
realizing it was HIS mistake,
you needed to hide your soul.

But Baby you can´t cry forever,
don´t make him believe you are a fool,
He´s just not as clever,
as you.

And next time you send your
heart away,
please be sure,
He will stay.

Relationship advice I gave whilst being Single

Freitag, 17. April 2015
I don´t know why all of my friends think I´m a good source to get relationship advice since I´ve never been in a serious relationship, but still they come to me and ask for it.
Not sure if it helped at all haha, but maybe it could help you?

Do more of what makes you happy
Just ask yourself 'Am I happy?'
Whatever makes you feel bad, leave it.
Whatever makes you smile, keep it.
As simple as that.

Think about who you want to be
Never lose yourself loving someone else (been there, done that),
always remember who you are and who you want to be.
For example:
Instead of apologizing to anyone, you first should consider
whether you want to be that kind of person you´re turning into,
because then there´s no apology needed.

He´s just not that into you
If you haven´t seen the movie, go watch it right now. It´s an eye opener. Because it truly does not make sense to encourage your best friend that he totally fancies her if the signs are damn clear that he doesn´t. Just spare her the pain from the beginning.
If a guy likes you, he will make an effort.
If not:
Honey, there are plenty fishes in the sea.

Trust the timing of your life
Don´t stress the could haves, if it should have, it would have.
(But: I don´t think it´s an accident when you fit perfectly into the crook of someone´s neck)

Love yourself first
I often ask this question myself.
How can I expect a guy to love me if I don´t even love myself?
Before you give away your heart,
make sure it´s not broken.

They can´t treat you like shit and then expect that you love them
Furthermore, your value doesn´t decrease,
based on someones inability to see your worth.

A lot can happen between now & never
I know a lot of people say this,
but it is true:
If you are constantly looking for 'the one',
you´ll never find him.
But if you stop looking, suddenly all guys are running after you.

Don´t let anyone give you the feeling you don´t deserve what you want
This is your life!
You deserve every peace of happiness you can get there.
And if a guy thinks otherwise, than give him a pretty piece of your mind!
Don´t let someone with the significance of a speed bump become the roadblock of your life.

'Love is trust in advance'

Plaza de Espana, Sevilla

Freitag, 13. März 2015
I do get a bit tired of telling you that some of my pictures are not as sharp as they should be, simply because my camera was / is broke. Nonetheless I couldn´t just Not let you see this amazing place a little bit more detailed.
Plaza de Espana is always full of life! If you spend there around an hour or so on a Saturday, I´ll guarantee you, you´ll see at least 2 wedding couples taking pictures. Believe me, it´s annoying, but funny the same. It´s a nice place to have a bit of a picnic or rest after a stroll through Parque Maria Luisa.
Other than that it´s part of the film set of the glorious Naboo in Star Wars, which makes it only more fascinating!
I always love to just sit there with a book and a nice cup of tea :)

Real Alcazar, Sevilla

Donnerstag, 5. März 2015
Frankly speaking, I´ve been meaning to post about this place since my first weekend in Seville. I visited it on my first trip to the city and it took my breath right away. Since then I´m counting it to one of my happy places. There is just something about it that makes it stand out among all other gardens and palaces I´ve seen. The beauty is incredible stunning and nearly impossible to comprehend into reasonable words. This is why I love pictures. Through them you are able to express your thoughts, when you´re lacking with words.

Countries I´ve been to & their meaning to me

Dienstag, 24. Februar 2015

When someone asks me why I love traveling so much I reply with this:

I am on constant search for myself and I have the feeling that every country has a part of me and I need to visit each country to put the pieces together and figure out who I truly am.

So here is a list with the countries I´ve been to and what I feel about them in a word.

Germany - Family
United States Of America  - Openness
Spain - Enthusiasm
Austria - Silence
Switzerland - Calmness
United Kingdom - Alive
Colombia - Surprising
Italy - Wind
Croatia - Sea
Greece - Blue
France - Simpleness
Morocco - Diversity
Portugal - Remarkable
Slovenia - Unexpected

It may not make sense to anybody besides me, but that´s not the point. This is a list for me, I just happen to share it with a worldwide audience.
Do you have any words or feelings describing one country in particular? If so, let me know!
Always,
Marie x

A Date with myself

Samstag, 14. Februar 2015
Sometimes society tricks us in believing crazy and ridiculous things.
There are unwritten rules that it´s not acceptable to (especially as a girl) go alone in a club, travel the world alone, let alone have a date with themselves in a mild-fancy restaurant.
But why? Why are they titled as weird, reckless or pathetic?
I´ll tell you, we are not. We are not weird, we are not reckless and particularly not pathetic.
We just don´t always have to depend on someone. We make our own rules and live by them.
And we are happy with that (most of the time).

This is not me trying to say that I don´t like going on dates with guys (even though I´ve never been to one which was considered as a proper date), I do like hanging out with them. But NOT all the time.
I enjoy being alone. I LOVE being alone. It gives me time to think or not think at all. I´m able to space out, not having the feeling being judged and can simply embrace things how they come

So here are some pictures of one of my favorite restaurants in Seville - L`Ova Giulvia
It´s very convenient located (right behind the cathedral and you can stroll afterwards through Santa Cruz.
Let me just say, the service and the food was extraordinary!
So so yummy and definitely to recommend.

I had:
olives and bread as a starter,
a lovely Tinto de Verano (my favorite drink at the moment)
and Spaghettis with homemade Pesto!

The prices are reasonable and definitely worth it!
If you are in the area, go check it out!

Again on a little note: My Autofocus was still broken while I took these pictures! :(

Goodbye Giulvia,
see you soon!

What´s your favorite restaurant? Or what have you done, simply for you?
Let me know in the comments below x

Flamenco Fashion Show - Sevilla

Mittwoch, 11. Februar 2015
Recently I´ve been invited to a Flamenco Fashion Show.
I´ve never been to one before, but am really interested in Fashion, hence me agreeing joyfully.
It was hosted by 'We Love Flamenco' and took place in the Alfonso XIII Hotel
(one of the most gorgeous Hotels I´ve ever been to!)
So these are some dresses you might see during the famous Semana Santa!

(Inconveniently, my Autofocus broke just that day, so it was very very difficult to snap sharp and in focus pictures. I truly apologize for that,
I know for myself these are definitely not the best pictures I´ve ever taken.
But if you have followed my blog for a bit, you´ll know I´m usually able to shoot better pictures haha.
Anyways, I still wanted to show y´all the pictures, just so y´all could get an impression on how Flamenco dresses can be worn.)

My favorite was the red dress, the one in the middle! :)

I had an absolutely blast!
It was completely new land to me, but I loved it.
I´m looking forward to many more fashion shows in the future!
