There is this one place I love. It´s called world.

Freitag, 31. Mai 2013
I´m starting off with telling you that this is a picture taken in my room. It´s my world map with little needles on it, indicating where I have been. Easy to make, just buy a world map in your nearest bookstore or on amazon. It´s super easy, but has a lovely outcome!

One of my true passions is: Travel the world. I just love to get in a car / hop on an airplane sleep for a few hours, wake up.. And be somewhere completely else. I love to see different places and to make good memories. I think it´s the possible best way how to spend your life. Because I think you should take the opportunity once you have the chance. That´s me, I´m neither a pessimist nor an optimist, but an opportunist. I just try to take things how they come.
I feel like I just need something new from time to time or I´ll go mental. My family and I used to move quite a lot, so I got used to new places anyways, I didn´t mind, I like to keep in contact with people, although I haven´t seen them in years.

Maybe I was born into it. My grandma is a massive traveler. Even though she´s not in her early days anymore she still travely at least every second year to some random country. And my parents went on awesome vacation with us as well, so basically, I just grew up with it.

If I try to picture the earth from far away, than ecerything just kind of seems weird. It is too big to be real, but on the otherside I´m asking myself, what if that truly does exist? Than my goal in life would be to see all the different places. I know that might take more than my life, because the world is pretty big. But I mean, I can try to see as many places as possible! How do you even know that that´s the most beautiful place or where your home is when you haven´t even been out of country?

Well home is where you heart is.

Where we land - Ed Sheeran

Sonntag, 26. Mai 2013

For most of the people this seems like a random song as it´s not one of his number one hits. But to me it has something special, it´s so calming. It gives a positive feeling about love, that somehow it doesn´t have to be perfect to be wonderful to you. It is about being spontanious, not planning out every second of your life.

This is only one of my favorite songs of Ed Sheeran, there are plenty!! I truly admire him and his music, he puts a special meaning into every word he says.

For all the people who study while listening to music, I really can recommend his album! Not only +, but the other ones as well! They are steady, not too loud, just a nice background music! So thumbs up for everybody who listens to Ed Sheeran! (: He´s so blessed with his amazing talent! Wish I could meet him one day!

The Perks of being a wallflower - Stephen Chbosky

I´m sorry I´m not really good at summarys, because I always tend to assume that people can guess what I think, but this is not the case, so yeah sorry about that.

The perks of being a wallflower is seriously one of my most favorite books. It is about making connections, it is unpredictable that´s what makes it special. What distinguishes this book from others is that it is written in personal letters by Charlie to a virtual friend, but he sends them anyway.

I think everybody can relate to it because probably everybody has once in a while a start of something new - in this case high school. Personally, I could not stop reading, it was just super exciting and I got addicted to it. Through his first high school year, Charlie is finding new friends and tries to find himselves. He does a lot of stupid things (as for example he takes LSD , but really great things as well. He is very mature and intelligent for his age, but sometimes he gets manipulated  or just doesn´t know any better. Anyway through his freshman year he falls in love with his new best friend step sister, Sam. She is everything he is looking for, but too shy to ask. By missing the chance to ask her out (because he got asked out before by an other girl and was to polite to refuse), he has to watch her getting a boyfriend and living her life without him. Charlie does not approve of Sam´s new boyfriend, because he thinks he doesn´t treat her properly.
Charlie is a really interesting character. He has not just one side, but shows a lot of himself.

What makes him so special is that he sees everything and turns everything into thoughts about life. Since he was younger, he has repeatedly mental break downs due to his aunt, because he thinks that she is dead because of him. At the ends he ends up in a hospital due to his mental instability. Even if he does not have the power to choose where he comes from, Charlie will choose where he goes in the future.

My favorite scene of the book is when Charlie sits in the car with patrick and Sam and Patrick and they listen to a random song which all of them love but they can´t put their fingers on how the song is called. In that scene Charlie says „ I feel infinite“.

My favorite quote of the book: „We accept the love we think we deserve“. I couldn´t have said it any better. If a friend of you ever gets cheated on, say this sentence to her or him. If you are in a relationship, the most of you think that you are in love. But are you truly? Do you think, of all 7 billion people existing on earth, you found THE ONE? Your only love? Well unless you haven´t tried them all, I don´t think that´s the case most of time.

But maybe you don´t find the right guy or girl. But I´m sure that you have your parents or your friends who love you. It may not always seem to you as it is the case, but they love you as much as possible. But that´s the thing, if you decide for yourself that you deserve to be loved and you deserve to be treated right, than I´m 100 percent sure you will notice things which will absolutely prove this point and you will start to accept the love you think you deserve.

They also made a movie to it and it is incredible!! Seriously, that´s one of these movies, after watching you just think "this changed my life". Now, I see things with a different perspective and it´s just all in all inspiring! Well and I am a massive Emma Watson fan, obviously this movie is great haha (; But she is just incredibly talented and so gorgeous!
Anyways, here´s the trailer, just give it a go and share your opinion about it with me or leave it in the comments below (:

We won´t sell Kinder chocolate eggs in the interest of child safety

Samstag, 25. Mai 2013

I don´t know if that picture even needs an explanation, it basically says it all, but I still want to share my opinion. I´m absolutely against every possibility that allows a children to have a gun, especially if it´s given as a toy.
I have lived in America (Texas) for one year and I learned that some of them have a special view on things. Especially once it comes to their personal rights. I really do understand that they want to be able to protect themselves and their kids and that the past showed that cases like that come once in a while.
It´s one thing to own a gun as an adult. It´s one thing to be responsible about a weapon and be aware of the right that EVERYBODY is able to get them without even a license needed.
But it is another thing to allow kids to use weapons! How many accidents have there already been, where a child shoots one of their siblings. I´m pretty sure that is not what they wanted. Weren´t the shootings we had enough? Winnenden, Denver, Ohio, how many wake up calls do we need?

It´s common sense that a mass shooting is more likely to happen if everybody and I mean just EVERYBODY is able to get a weapon. I´m not saying you can prevent shootings completely by passing a law which outlaws guns, but maybe than not everybody will have an easy possibility and start a shooting.

I think the reason, why not every country has stricter rules about owning guns are based on economy. The arms industry is a gold mine in the truest sense of the word, thereby an incredibly huge amount of money is generated. And a lof of the country´s economies are based on arms trade. So again, money is all that counts.

I am not judging people who want to protect themselves, but just think about it, if you are able to get a gun, than everybody is able to as well, is that decreasing the chance to get hurt?

A weekend in Hamburg

Two weeks ago I went with my family to Hamburg! My brother and me got a short holiday (Thursday and Friday) and we took the opportunity to give my mom tickets for the Tarzan musical because she turned 50.
On our way we stopped by at my grandparents house and spend there the night.
Hamburg is just overall amazing!! It has a huge harbor, so we did a boats tour through it. I´m not super interested in ships, but I have to admit it was really interesting! We got really lucky because it was 824th harbor birthday! They had a lot of events which was really cool! I got to listen to DJ Antoine (he´s a famous DJ from switzerland) and I got to watch the ships enter the harbor. It does take a while but it´s worth it.
But the reason why we even went was because of Tarzan. This was seriously the best musical ever!! They just truly put their hearts in their work and it was absolutely amazing. The stage was used incredibly, as they tried to involve the audience as well and monkeys bounced in the middle of them from the top! Can´t even describe cause it was just soooooo good! Everybody should go see it! That´s why I´m super sad that they they´ll stop doing shows after this summer. :(( They just did an amazing job and I´m really glad I got to see it!
Since we only had a short amount of time we kind of rushed in seeing everything. Hamburg has a lot of beautiful and interesting spots. We went to Michel (huge tower), the Speicherstadt, Reeperbahn (I´d only suggest that if you are over 18 or with your parents and probably not at night as it might get dangerous) and just the harbor itself. We went as well to the famous fish market at 4:30 am in the morning, but I was kind of disappointed, as everybody highly recommended it, it was a bit boring and really empty, but they told us to go really early, so we were surprised at its appearance,
Although it was in the middle of may it was really windy!! Even though the sun was out, but oh well, that´s just how it is, when you are close to the sea.
If you haven´t been there yet, you should go definitely! There is a lovely spot for everybody and it´s a really interesting city! I really enjoyed it (:

One Week Colombia

Dienstag, 21. Mai 2013
The week before eastern I went with my mom to Colombia, visiting my sister. She is currently taking a gap year to do voluntary work in the social sector. Anyway, the week started off amazingly! She lives in Bogotá, the capital of Colombia. The city is gigantic and absolutely stunning, as it has two sides to it. The one side looks extremely wealthy as it has a lot of beautiful houses and parks. But on the other side, there is the bigger poor part. When you walk down the streets in Germany and you think, wow this is a huge pothole, than this is nothing against it! What they call pothole in Europe is just a little unevenness in the road, it´s ridiculous. But here is the thing, they simply don´t have enough money to fix the street or to take care of them. There are many crazy (and unfortunately sad) things to see, such as big piles of rubbish next to a cow on the meadow in the middle of the city. It´s weird to picture, but I definitely haven´t seen it before!
My sister, guiding us through the city, introduced us to a lot of delicious dishes. My favourites were Arepa's (south american corn cakes) and Hugo de lulo (a juice or milkshake made out of the lulo fruit).
She took us as well to one of the highest points (Monserrate) in Bogotá were you have an amazing view over the whole city and you can see that Bogotá is basically build on a high plateau! It´s crazy how gigantic this city is!

During our stay in Colombia we went as well to the mysterious El Dorado. Well it wasn´t as mysterious as imagined, but it was beautiful indeed! Actually we planned on renting jet skies, but sadly they didn´t offer them during the week. Pooo :(
But we made the best out of it, had a lovely view over the lake, did a little bit of hiking and just looked at gorgeous little shops.

We did a two days trip to Tobia, which is a little tiny village in (as I would describe it) the jungle. The nature was just absolutely overwhelming! I like to compare it with the planet Pandora (the movie is called AVATAR), because it´s just a wide spread of different green colours and flowers and just plants overall! It was absolutely amazing and it reminded me of why I am so much in love with traveling <3
When we got there, the first thing we noticed, the transporter ( / Taxi / broken car) played us!! ( Well exchanged in Euros it was only 50 ct, but still!!). But we didn´t let us bring down by that. We decided to do some very cool activities and our decision fell on rafting. It has been one of the coolest things I have done so far in my life because it´s really fun and unpredictable! I quite like the adrenaline it´s giving you, you are just in the moment and feel your heart beating as fast as it can. I love the energy you get out of it. While we rode (if you can call it like that) down the river, on my left side I saw a man. Well that doesn´t sound to scary, BUT he was topless, he was holding a living fish in his left hand and in the right hand he hold a knife. You are safe to say that it scared the crap out of me. Anyways, as the river is called Rio Negro, you can imagine what our shirts looked like. I´m not kidding, but my shirt wasn´t white anymore, oh well..:D
We signed up for a second activity as well, but again they played us. In the magazine it said canyoning, we in our wild fantasies imagined something cool with climbing rocks, jumping down a waterfall (the magazine had a picture of it), dive into a natural pool.. well you get the idea, something adventurous. It turned out that canyoning is called a walk next to the river. Of course we questioned this but we got a simple answer that they got complaint as it is to dangerous to actually do a real canyoning, but they simply couldn´t fix the magazine. It got a little bit frustrating, but we survived it.
Since we thought that spending the night in a jungle would be a cool idea, we rented tents on a Finka (which is a little cabin/open house on a farm or just on a meadow in our case). Sadly the Finka had not stored any food, what caused us to go to sleep hungrily. Before that, a enormous cloudburst came down! I have never ever seen it raining so much in that little amount of time (it literally went from sunshine to rain in a matter of seconds). I quite enjoyed the rain as it smells lovely and feels good. I took the time and read "the perks of being a wallflower" now I am proud to call it as one of my favourite books! (: The night was super cold, but all in all it was a wonderful experience!

The last highlight of the week was the day in the cloud forest! I have never seen something like this in my life! It was forest, starting at the top of a mountain and going down in a valley, full covered in fog. It was so weird and inconceivable. It was a really good exercise as well, haha. You might think it only goes down if you are starting at the top, but no, that´s not the case. It has it´s up and downs but it was all worth it! It just makes you really love nature as you see it´s true beauty just by leaves and how they are created. I know we have nature in Germany as well haha, but it´s by far not the same! I loved it. We even did this crazy thing (I don´t remember it´s name) where you get a climbing harness which is connected to a steel cable and you just jump into nothing. As well, one of the coolest things I have ever done!!

Ahh I am in love with this country, even if it was the first time I visited, but the variety of nature truly fascinated me. I plan going back there, not in the near future, but at some time (:
