A day in Cordoba

Freitag, 31. Juli 2015
Hey there,
I finally managed to go through my photos of Spain and kind of sort through them, however I am not finished yet. So these are some pictures I took on a day trip to Cordoba. The city is quite unique and somewhat beautifully calm. There´s no real rush, just pure joy of life. The bridge actually reminds me a bit of the 'Pillars Of Earth City'.

So at the moment I´m counting my last days in Berlin. Don´t really want to leave this city. What has everyone been up to? Let me know in the comments below. M x

Still

Mittwoch, 22. Juli 2015
Right, so if you follow me on twitter or Instagram you would know that I´m in Berlin right now. Absolutely love this city, it´s amazing. But I´m not just on vacation here. I´m visiting a summer school for Directing classes. It´s called MET film school and they are pretty awesome. So this is the first movie I did on my second day here. I had like 1 hour to come up with an idea, 45 minutes to shoot and 1 hour to edit. This is what I came up with:

The lovely music is called Little Darling by Lewis Watson.
Hope you enjoyed it, let me know (:

Dolphin Watching

Freitag, 3. Juli 2015
This is a post I wrote in April.
Somehow I managed to completely forget about it.
But better late then never right?

Two weeks ago, my parents visited me, yaaaay (:
No, honestly, I was really excited. I haven´t seen them in months and it was just good to catch up with them in real life and not only via skype.
So when they came, I set myself a challenge to make them fall in love with Spain as well.

However, did our first trip go straight away from Seville and to the indeed very wonderful Lagos!
As a kid I was a couple of times at the Mediterranean Sea, however I´ve never seen Dolphins in real life! I easily convinced my parents that it could be a smashin' idea to go see some in Lagos.

The company we choose is called Seafaris.
Frankly speaking I was quite nervous, because they can´t promise you that you´ll see them for sure (completely understandable since they are free wild animals), though we were very lucky!

We took the speed boat for a good half hour until we were far enough out in the ocean. Let me tell you, I´m not reeeeeaally a big fan of water. I still carry some quite bad memories with water, from when I was a child, with me around (which are partly resonsible for my Claustrophobica). So I am not really keen on getting into water.. Anyway, I am glad I got over myself, because I wouldn´t have traded it for a thing!

In the following weeks, I´ll probably squeeze in here and there some more posts about Spain or old travels. I just got so many pictures I want to share with you guys, but it takes ages to go through them.
Also.. I´m working on a quite personal post, but I´m kind of hesitating to put it out there. Any suggestions on that matter?
All the best,
M x

June Favorites

Gazpacho
This is a very traditional spanish summer dish and absolutely delicous. They drink it here whenever it gets hot and it´s just amazing! I´m actually thinking about doing a blogpost about it soon, so if you would like that, let me know!

Game Of Thrones
This is kind of a must have in this blog. Ahh Game of Thrones is just too amazing to start even to cope with it. I´m just really into it and I can´t believe they left the fifth season with such a cliffhanger! I don´t want to spoil anything in case you haven´t seen it, but I can´t believe the ending, I refuse to. Well but it got me very excited for the next season which I´ll have to wait forever for!! If you are a GoT fan like me, let me know.

Ella Grace Denton
I have talked about this angel already before. Hands down, one of my greatest inspirations. I admire her way of thinking about life and taking it for good and for worse, it´s like she´s married to Nature and the Good. Whenever I´m having a down day I scroll through her Instagram or read some of her blogposts. She never fails to surprise or enlighten me.

Mojo Piccon
This is my fairly new favorite Salsa. It´s a bit spicy, but so good! Especially with Barbecue or bread, well actually it pretty much goes with everything. My hostmum in Spain always made it herself and I managed to important a few glasses to Germany.

WORLD MAP QUIZ
As I am a person that absolutely adores maps (I have countless maps of any kind in my bedroom in Germany) this is a fun way to procrastinate! My cousin showed it to me a couple of months back. And this website www.jetpunk.com has some pretty cool map quizzes and I always try to break my record with the world map quiz! You have only 15 minutes to name as many countries as possible. Go try it yourself and let me know how many you got!

EFFACLAR
Well I haven´t talked too much about beauty on this blog, because.. well I´m just not really 'into' it. I am interested in beauty once in a while and pathetically wish I´d be better with make up, but let´s face it: I´m just not haha. Anyways, this is a creme I love and used pretty much every day. I´ve been using it years now (not the same tube obviously, just putting that out there)! And a lot of my friends recommend it as well.

So what have you been loving this month?

A week in Croatia

Montag, 29. Juni 2015
When my uncle first told me he´s getting married in Croatia, my first reaction was: he is crazy.
First shock survived, I started liking the idea of having a beach wedding. I have to say I´m not massively into beaches which makes me kind of odd I guess, but it´s a nice setting to a wedding and of course it matters what bride and groom want. (And I am always up for a cheeky road trip)
So after I headed back from Seville to Frankfurt, my family and I took a 10 hour trip from our home to the Island called Mali Losinj in Croatia. On our way we passed through Austria and Slowenia. Honestly, I was super surprised by Slowenia! It wasn´t really a country present on my radar, but I was amazed by it. The nature and the woods just looked amazing.
Well after a long car journey later, we finally arrived. The wedding was themed in white and pastel colors, which is quite an unusual thing, but refreshing.
The colors of the sea were breathtaking. Seriously haven´t seen that amazing colors in a long time. Like I said I´m not really up for Beaches, but if I go there I enjoy my time nontheless. I even managed to go swimming which I´m usually dreading, 'cause I´m not the biggest water fan. But the salt in it makes it really funny to swim and besides it´s amazing for your skin.
The wedding was a bit short, but apparently that´s normal. Other than that it was really beautiful!
We also took a stroll through the haven of Mali Losinj which is really gorgeous. We visited a friend of ours who came by boat. We went on the boat and my sister and I were lost in memories. When we were kids we pretty much spent the summers at our grandparents house and they have a sailboat and that´s where we were all the time. Great memories.
So here are a few pictures I took, hope you like it x

Seville - a little film

Sonntag, 28. Juni 2015

This is my first ever video on youtube which makes it a bit scary.. Those are just a view clips I filmed whilst I lived there. Obviously I am not a pro at this, but they are good memories and this is a way of looking back. I just thought I´d give it a go. x

Top 6 Free Things To Do in Seville

Samstag, 30. Mai 2015
Sevilla is a really underrated city. I don´t get why it´s not as popular as Paris or London. It´s beyond gorgeous and you just can't seem to get enough of it. It´s also a city of tons of college students. I myself am always looking after my money so I am always happy when there are free things to do around the city. If you feel the same, carry on reading!

1. Hospital De Los Velnerables
It used to be home to priest and is just a lovely piece of architecture in the middle of the city. It´s a bit hidden and not really a lot people go there (even though it is in travel guides). It´s a beautiful interior courtyard connected with a baroque style church. Just grab yourself a book and have a nice sunday afternoon. `Cause every sunday afternoon you can get in for free,  otherwise it´s about 2€ more or less.

2. Museum De Bellas Arte
If you are into art and a bit of spanish history, go to this museum! It´s a lovely building inside and out. You can learn a lot about the spanish way of living. For a bit of alone time it´s always a good place to start. And the entrance is completely free.

3. Las Setas
That´s how the Sevillan people call it, otherwise also known as 'Metropol Parasol' It´s a construct made out of wood and about 26m tall. That way you can look over the whole city. You have to pay 3€, but you can turn them into a drink upstairs, so it´s not really 'paying' since you get a nice refreshing for it. And what better way than to have a nice drink over the roofs of Seville?

4. Flamenco Show T De Triana
Spain is famous for their Flamenco and rightly so! You can book professional Flamenco shows online (for example La Casa del Flamenco is pretty good), but also a nice way is to go on a thursday night (and sometimes other nights as well) to T de Triana . You can buy a drink or not, however you prefer and then you can watch a traditional Flamenco show, it´s pretty cool! Definitely an experience not to miss when in Spain.

5. Picnic in Parque Maria-Luisa
This is basically what my sunday afternoons consisted off. Tanning and eating in the park. It is just as lovely as you´d imagine. The park is quite big and right next to Plaza de Espana and Plaza de Americano. So you may add a bit of sightseeing as well.

6. Free City Tour
Every day at 10 am there is a guide (you´ll find him for sure, he hands out flyers and looks just like a typical tour guide) standing at Plaza Nueva and he offers a free tour around the city. It´s a professional guide and an offer from the city. My friends made the tour (I myself didn´t), but I heard lots of good things about and if you don´t want to pay for a hopp on hopp of bus than this might be just the right thing for you!

Have a fantastic summer day,
Marie x

Real Alcazar Round x

Freitag, 22. Mai 2015
I have been to this place now numerous times, but it never fails to astound me. I always manage to find something that fascinates me.
And of course it´s quite popular right now since you can see it in Game Of Thrones.
So here are some bits and pieces of my latest visit!

If only

Dienstag, 12. Mai 2015
...If
only...

I only said it in fun, thought you´d only be pretending.
It could have only been due to a misunderstanding.
If only I knew your love was real,
I would have told you how I really feel.

But boy we were never meant to fit,
and though I didn´t mean for us to turn out the way we did.
If only I could have protected our hearts,
yet I just knew we wouldn´t last.

And now it concerns not only our relation,
cause we dragged everybody else in our damnation.
If I could only turn back time,
but I still couldn´t promise we´d be fine.
I wouldn´t, cause either way,
I could never make you stay.
And I don´t even wish for it,
you should never loose your free spirit.
'Cause that is what makes you indeed
to the beautiful person I was lucky enough to meet.

But boy we were never meant to fit,
and though I didn´t mean for us to turn out the way we did.
If only I could have protected our hearts,
yet I just knew wouldn´t last.

If only you could forgive me and see,
that for comparison only, you mean the world to me.
